Do you still have version 6 on your pc? If so just un-install version 7 and load version 6.

You alway could with version 6, but the check would only happen if the PC was online at the time set in options. However, in version 7, if the PC is not switched on at the specified time, the check would occur the next time the PC was started. This goes for the schelduled scan as well.

No problem here (well, one problem sorted) With the default setup email failed.
My firewall was blocking the communication between the email client and AVG - after respecifying firewall rules, A-OK

I am eager to try AVG 7 but wanted to check re any problems experienced beforehand.

You are advised to disable mail safe in Zone Alarm to avoid conflicts.

Support for AVG 6 stops on December 31st 2004 which is why AVG 7 Free has replaced it.

Re: AVG free Version 7
AVG 7 free no longer allows installation on Windows Server 2003, I had to purchase the File Server version. Excellent value with a 2 year 5 user licence costing just £50, btw I use Outpost Professional firewall with it.

Re: AVG free Version 7
Usual good stuff from AVG.
And the icon looks a lot cooler, which is obviously the clincher ....

The whole interface seems a lot better and easier to use this time, as long as it is stable and as good as usual for detecting nasties then I'm happy
