Re: £40 per month BB TV Phone??

£17.99 has always been the normal price, you had been on some sort of a deal which has now ended. Check out what value packs you can now have http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/valuepacks

On another note, NTL are in the process of upgrading all 1mbit users to 2mbit. You might have been upgraded and you can check this from the speed test on this site.

ntl wouldnt tell you as the customer service agreement would have said 17.99 with a discount of 8.00 for 12 months, which is why the bills are so complicated as they charge you full price and credit back for a certain period

Re: £40 per month BB TV Phone??

Well yes that must be part of the "small print", as I have never seen a bill for my BB (taken DD every month 9.99) I did not know what the original price was or if there was any credit for a certain period. I was paying 40.00 for all 3 services and was very pleased with the value, now all of a sudden the 2MB BB is 17.99pm and the family TV pack and phone line (321) are now 30.50pm. this is like £50pm!! ! and now the year is up I have also lost the talk unlimited package too (free for a year). Surely I can get a better deal out there? I really cant afford 50.00 a month this is crazy! I cannot take any "deals" again as they say they are for "NEW" customers only. So it seems that NTL respect their NEW customers and crap on the people who have been paying them every month without any problems. Does anyone have any experience with NTL retentions? If I call and have a moan will they drop the price or at least give me talk unlimited free again for another year??

Phone them up, tell them you want to cancel and explain why, then i'm pretty sure they will offer you some sort of a deal to stay.

P.S Should always read the small print.

Oh ya I always read Ts & Cs for bank accounts and stuff I just must have missed this, or maybe I had faith in the salesman who set me up (after all, why would he want to mention the normal price.)

I will give them a call today

Try reading this thread, you will get some idea of the packages on offer if you speak to the right person. http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=45910

Re: £40 per month BB TV Phone??

I have spoken to Retentions who have given me half price Family pack for 6 months and 9.99 BB 2MB for 6 months so just over 30.00pm for all 3 services as oppose to the 48.00pm that it went up to, better off than I was before really, Well done NTL, you can do something right! If you are not fixed to a contract I recommend that you call NTL on 0800 052 9403 and moan about what you are paying, they can drop the price
