Re: New built PC won't POST or beep.

Dosent that Gigabyte job have issues where it wont boot if the correct RAM isnt installed?

Thats the DS4 board you have there right - if so it needs any of the followng memory or it wont boot:-

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/...a-965p-ds4.pdf

DS3 and DS4 have the same issue - see below:-

Quote:
[Q] What is the problem with memories and DS3?
[A] Some memories require 2.0V to boot. Standard DS3 stock VDimm is 1.8V. Simply after a CMOS reset the system won’t boot... If you happened to have such mem, replace them. Or buy some shi++y lowcost mem and put it in to boot, change VDimm and replace with your modules to continue o/c.
Looky here...

and here for a possible resolution.

I am having to RMA something else to Dabs atm as well which isn't good. I am so fed up.
You've just hit the reason i never shop at Dabs, they are really good right up until you want to RMA something - then they turn into diablo's right hand man.

Good luck.
Cheers mate.

I've bought loads of stuff there, but if they balls me up on these RMAs i'll take my business elsewhere, but starting to run out of mail order places.

Don't know what to do...

Indeed... I don't know what to do...

The Crucial memory selector said it would work with my motherboard... The MB is 1.8v for memory, and so is my memory.

I can't find out what DS_ my board is or anything. Its this one

I think i'll RMA it and have done with it. Probably get another case and PSU as this one had a hard time booting properly after I put all stuff back in

I might see how much it would be for someone else to assemble it. Give them this headache instead of me.

In all honest mate, it did cross my mind about asking you... At least it will be done properly and learn a bit as I go.
