Hmm!So what are the educational implications for this?
Can we get close enough to check behind the school bikesheds?

That is because it is urban imagery. Only cities are included. Bit annoying as it has Tampa and Orlando, but not my parents place in the middle which is shame. Have to put up with the blurry black and white view.
Doesn't have Miami though. Weird.

Re: Anyone seen this software from NASA
NASA have now released some parts of the world to download, good news is they included the UK so we don't need to keep downloading the images!

Re: Anyone seen this software from NASA
That link is currently down - I have the files but I'm sure the site mentioned something about using version 1.2c (I've got the 1.2b to 1.2c patch but it errors on install - 1628 - Failed to Complete Installation)
EDIT : AddOn Packs seem to work though

Re: Anyone seen this software from NASA
You can download the UK maps and cache them (see post #64).
The res is very low though for the UK. It is at best, A-Z standard. Nothing like the USGS stuff.

Re: Anyone seen this software from NASA
For what its worth you can get aerial pics of uk locations from multimap they're not bad, the high res ones a pay on demand but at least on the low ones you get an overall view of your area

I have looked at these and they are interesting but, in the case of my area, around 5 years out of date. Sometimes it takes you quite a while to figure out exactly what you are looking at as everything looks so different from above
