NTL STB problems

i have had a set top box installed about 3-4 weeks ago now and since its install i have only ever been able to get 4 channels (101-104) at least once a week i have rang ntl and have got nowhere after waiting for an hour each time to speak to a customer rep they say take the details of the STB and smartcard

can anyone give me an answer to what is going on, is it a one off or is this a known fault

STB model no is DI4001NC

i also have a terayon TJ210 Modem as well (have never had any problems with it since day one)

Re: NTL STB problems

Pull the mains plug out for about 5 minutes then plug it back in again.
See if that fixes it.

Hi mate and welcome

Same problem as myself, 29 days with only the channels you mention.
It is a known fault.
The problem stems from a changeover of system, there is a fix for it cause ours got done yesterday and the roll-out to the rest of the box's wont be to long.

Simple .
1: be in normal tv [i.e not in interactive]

2: press on remote page up, page down then the blue key

up should come a purple or blue screen saying user info with things like
stb IP address
agc
snr
pre rs errors
post rs errors
network id [ushualy a 5/6 digit number]
return power
total channels
total streams

this will help you when on fone to ntl
if network ID is 09999 tell ntl yr STB has lost its network

Don't think it is the same. By the sound of it amd's channels come and go (possibly restored a rehit each time s/he rings up). Could be a faulty smartcard.

amd: if this is the case, you need to keep nagging ntl. Tell them it keeps happening.

Re: NTL STB problems

ok so i have now got some channels but i havn't got all the ones i am subscribed to on my £29.99 a month package i only seem to be recieveing the channels that are available in the base pack??

does it take time for the extra channels to filter through

in the page up down and blue button menu it says that i am subscribed to the 29.99 package

also is a SNR of 33.3 good??

the £29.99 you see is the money your box has for PPV et ok not package lol as for SNR anything above 30 i find is good

glad you finally got it sorted & yes it does take time for channels to come in shoul be fine in 2hrs if not call NTL back
