Thanks Grum..Have followed other advice re tweak test...altered??rwin?? to the suggested num..6300..said ok...re-boot???is this unplug/replug??how long for??the numbers,kbit/sec have been getting slower over past week...cheers

yes unplug your modem and turn your pc off, turn your modem back on wait for the lights to go steady then power up your pc.

leave it unplugged for abt 30 secs i guess

Hi Grum..your post 37..run that past me again pse...when I unplugged modem comp froze..had to use restart button..speed test now mid 30s!!!!what did I do wrong

No problem....

What i meant was turn off your modem and your pc
unplug your modem for abt 30 secs
reboot your modem and wait for the lights to go steady
restart your pc
do a speed test

if you are getting worse results ring technical support and see what they say

grum...your ins clear...BUT.when I unplug modem..no switch as such,I pull the plug out of the back..the pc freezes..can I do reverse and switch off pc first...win me...120 modem with USB

If ntl say they can't see any problems, it could be down to your PC setup.

1st 128K took 19550 ms = 6704 Bytes/sec = approx 56 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 24110 ms = 5436 Bytes/sec = approx 45 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 19170 ms = 6837 Bytes/sec = approx 57 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 16870 ms = 7770 Bytes/sec = approx 65 kbits/sec
grum...The above is after reboot...what should I expect,am sure it used to be around145/147...will fone cs in morn,guess they are closed now???...many thanks for your help..

you should be getting results simialr to the ones you used to get. You need to speak to tech support they are open till midnite on 0845 650 0121
