Laptop advice wanted
Hi y`all
I`m considering getting a cheap laptop, only for trawling aroung the internet. Not much else and my qoestion is....are the £200 odd on ebay ok for this, or should i stay clear? I`m not too bothered about the battery life as it will be plugged in. The only thing i know i`ll need is a network card slot (pcima). Will a P2 be ok.
Thanks in advance my `puter gurus

If you are looking to just surf, then a PII will be fine,.
Although you will probably get a good deal on ebay, a quick google may be worthwhile in order to look for refurbished/second hand laptops. A number of companies now sell them online at pretty low prices, and you normally get at least 3 months warranty included in the price. (which you rarely find with Ebay..)
A lot of newer laptops have a build in network card, otherwise a cheap pcmcia card will set you back 10-20 quid.

Re: Laptop advice wanted
Just bought a PIII 750 (Dell Latitude) lappie off eBay (only use 'Power Sellers') - £300 (incl post, VAT etc).
Nice m/c, had to install own OS and cant get installed modem/NIC combo to work yet, but will persevere !!

Micromart is a good mag you can buy that has special offers and deals on laptops in the advert pages normally.

Re: Laptop advice wanted
Be careful when buying a 2nd hand laptop - the screens can often be dodgy, so see if you can actually see it working before parting with your cash.
