Good PSU's?

After I had heard that cheap PSU's can reduce performance and can even catch fire I decided to go for a decent PSU that has protection on it, and has dual fans. I was thinking along the lines of this one:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ermax_111.html
(Enermax NoiseTaker 375W, near the bottom)

Full spec here:
http://www.enermax.com.tw/products_p...Gid=18&Gid2=25

Would this do a good job of protecting my system and being reliable? I don't want to use the PSU that I got with this case, which cost me £10 (that's the case AND the PSU, so you know how I feel about this PSU at the moment )

Thanks to any one in advance

It's a great PSU, a bit low powered, but if you don't have any seriously high specced components it'll do you well, I had an enermax for years, still use it to power Cathode's seperately from my case PSU.

Don't have anything that's high specced, and may be a long time before that happens. Cheers

For some reason I thought you were Halcyon .. must still be half asleep. As it's you though, and we know most of your components, I reckon you could get away with using one of these

Theres a few nice psu's there not as pricey as overclockers. I'm happy with me denon 700w though.

Re: Good PSU's?

Parents don't like me buying off EBay, so that is out of the question. Looks like I'm sticking with the other one though, just right for me, good protection, "SmartFan" technology etc.

Good move, I wouldn't risk buying one of them cheap nasty one's from Ebay, at least with OC you have a warranty.

Re: Good PSU's?

ANTEC tru power PSU's are the best on the market, Super Reliable and Built to a very high standard, they have some nifty power shuffling Features too which come in handy.

Re: Good PSU's?

I had at look at the Antec ones, but they don't seem to have the protection as the Enermax's do. That's the most important thing with this PSU, and the fact it's quiet, and also helps with cooling (which is SmartFan technology, when the PC is shut down the PSU fans will run for a couple of minutes to remove heat from the system, to expand life)
