Sorry mikej - I didn't want to steal your focus - just I saw this post and had the codes to hand because I was programming my remote.

Re: ntl remote codes

I've just been reading some old posts about these new remotes and decided to give NTL a call to see if I could get one. I was completely honest and just asked if I could have one of the new ones that will control functions on my TV.

I was told that the only way to get one was if I was having a new install and therefore a new box or if my current remote was faulty.

According to the posts, these remotes can be bought from NTL at £15. Did I just get the wrong CSR on the phone?

I am in an ex CWC area and still have my original Cable & Wireless branded box and remote.

Perhaps honesty isn't always the best policy. I could have lied and said the remote was broken and I'd have probably got a new shiny one for free.

Any help?

LOL according to post you have to send back your old remote(in a blue bag they send with the new one) so they can check to see whether it is a fault or consumer damage. They wil charge you if it is consumer damage!!!

It even worked fine for my 1st Gen IR Saisho TV wich is nearly as old as myself and is unsupported by most universal remotes.
