Re: Software version numbering -- a proposition

Let me put it another way:

CR1 - Ex-Videotron areas, or the very first (green) EPG software used by CWC
CR2 - Langley software prior to the latest rollout, or (more correctly) the (blue) EPG software used by CWC.
CR3 - Do you mean Langley or Bromley? The first Bromley version, or after Maintenance Release 1?
LCR3 - This is clear, but what will you call it when (in a year or so) the next Langley release goes out?

The numbering system I've suggested differentiates between all of these easily.

DeK: It is unfortunate in a way, but I think it's overall it will be a good thing if L3.1 is now the "NTL Look" -- the Sky software has hardly changed in its basic look over the years, despite software revisions. Hopefully this new look will last NTL for many years, and though many updates.

Well I thinkthis thread lost me about 2 posts down, but I think I'm on the above platform, suffice to say it's crap, the interactivity content is about as interactive as a comotose tortoise; the EPG takes ages to scroll downa and is sometimes wrong. When will I get upgraded to the new, better interactive platform?
