no it will be something on your computer causing the problems. Do you only get popups when Internet explorer is open?
which version of windows do you have?
have you run any checks for spyware?
do you use file sharing software ie winmx/ kazaa/ imesh?

we need as much information as possible please....

Re: Pop-ups!

Do the following:

- Clear all your coookies.

- Clear all your temporary internet files.

- If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, ditch it and download Mozilla, which has advert and popup blocking. Its more reliable and works a treat.

- Download adaware and run it to delete any spyware.

Re: Pop-ups!

Download Spybot S&D http://www.spybot.de , update it and run a check. It sounds like you have some spyware installed. It also has an "immunize" (or immunise!!!) feature which is run after clearing the spyware to stop it re-appearing, and it appears to work well.

Re: Pop-ups!

It could be messenger popups, you know, the "net send" type.
Try downloading the firewall: ZoneAlarm free version.

kazaaa is riddled with spyware. Bad Bad program

generally you can remove anything found by ad-aware with no problems, but if you are not sure, post a list of what it finds on here and someone will tell you what is safe to get rid of.

I have heard reports that deleting the spyware bundled with kazaa will stop it from working, have a search on this forum for links to download K lite instead- no spyware there

Re: Pop-ups!

What you need to remember as well is ad-aware will often be unable to delete certain programmes as they'll be "in use" - to get around this just make a note of where ad-aware says they are, reboot your machine in safe mode, follow the location (often in C:>>>>program files) and delete the buggers that way.

or just say yes when ad aware asks if it can run at next reboot... then reboot it will scan before they load and can then remove them

Re: Pop-ups!

Oh really? It's been quite a while since I last used Ad-aware and not sure if I tried that. I just found it more satisfying to go in and zap the bugs myself
