Edited highlights of Sam's post that started this whole thread; my emphasis:
" we have begun the rollout of the much discussed CR3 software to Langley...
We are now in a position to answer questions...
We would also welcome your feedback...
Please use this thread specifically for questions directed to the ntl product team regarding the new software, or to share your feedback with us
We won't be in a position to respond to questions as they come up, but Neil has kindly agreed to ... send them to us. We will then respond once we have collated all of the answers...
we will not answer questions about future developments, other than to give general intentions. We will, however, answer all queries, technical or otherwise, on this specific software where we can...
We look forward to your comments and questions."
It may be "unofficial", but I doubt that she posted all this entirely without the knowledge of her employers and colleagues.

Probably not, but she used only this website to announce upgrade dates for all the regions. I cannot believe those were unauthorised leaks.

Not an essay, but I would like to see some sign that those in a position to have got the message(s) and are in fact planning to do something about it. Otherwise, I can only assume that all this feedback has disappeared into the black hole of ntl Customer relations, and we have all (over 600 posts now) been wasting our time providing it.
Years of development, months of "testing", and they managed to produce this. It was bad enough when it first appeared, but why has the 1:10 am channel hopping suddenly started?????????????????? And when is it going to stop?????????????????

Just to correct my earlier posting ( here), it appears as though Favourites works in the same way to the Front Row listings. I'm not sure why the scrolling is different in these views, perhaps someone in the know can answer?

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
PLEASE tell the ntl product team that we want the page up/down back in the miniguide if you haven't already thats my one major gripe with cr3.
otherwise i quite like it so far.....
dunno anything about the 1:10 issue as dont tend to watch tv at 1:10 in the morning LOL maybe thats what ntl was thinking when they choose the screenblanking / changeing channel thing to happen then (assuming its delibrate and not some weird bug.)

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
It may be 1:10 now but if the old software is anything to go by then when we go back to GMT it'll happen at 00:10 (ie: when I'm trying to watch Star Trek on Sky One)

Yes, when I'm ready to.
I wasn't aware that I am paying for a time-limited service. Imagine ...
... you bought a Front Row movie, and missed the most important part ...
... you bought pay-per-view boxing, and missed the knock-out ...
... you missed the soprano failing to hit that high note ...
... you missed an England stand-off kicking a drop goal ...
and all because ntl decided - all by themselves - that you'd prefer to watch QVC for a few minutes?
The old 'blanking' problem was bad enough, but this is extremely annoying, and it should not happen.

I agree that it would be nice to get some feedback from ntl: as several common points have been raised by a number of users, e.g. performance problems, Mini Guide problems, etc. Having said that, I think their immediate priorities are to complete the e-TV work for L3.1 and then get B3.2 rolled-out. Shortly after that would be a good point to stake stock of the feedback they've received via CS, Cable Forum and Digital Spy as all customers will have an EPG that is pretty much identical in terms of looks and functionality (well, apart from those stuck with B1.5). It would be particularly interesting to hear if ntl: have been surprised by any of the feedback received so far, e.g. they might have been expecting comments about performance but maybe something that wasn't previously on the agenda is now being considered?

well you have to admit QVC is better than alot of the stuff on T.V nowadays...however i see your point. As for the soprano failing to reach the Peak Note...now that would be funny.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
It also seems to happen at 23:10. I was just watching Dirty Sanchez on MTV and it just switched to some other channel (I don't know which one as the display still said 604 and there was no DOG) for about 10 seconds.
NTL had better fix this bug soon or they'll start to lose customers. The screen blanking on the old software was bad enough but this is ridiculous

To paraphrase, you think we're stuck with what we've got? Oh, joy! Let's speculate:
L3.1 - finished any time now,
B3.2 - finished Autumn 2004?
review feedback - finished Christmas 2004?
fix and test bugs - finished end 2005?
roll-out - Summer 2006?
"coming soon" rumours start - Jan 2005?

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
I am sure NTL post here on an official basis. Otherwise why would they vanish as soon as the problems start to appear. It would not be hard for one of them to post even something short like "thanks for the feedback....we are looking into sorting out the problems and will give a further update when we know more"
Well, it would not be hard if it were not for the fact they have to discuss what is posted here in some musty old board room before anything is posted.
Just speculation of course
