Don't think it's messenger this time (I notice your in Cambridge like me), try various .com websites and overseas sites when you lose your messenger connection - I can't connect to loads of them just as this happens, so I assume there is a fault somewhere on NTL's side here.

the only probs i have with msn is file transfers are damm slow now ive tried every trick i can think of so far ie opening ports in router etc but still like wadein thru mud
