"it looks bad" "he looks like a thug" "he will regret it"

my question is:

who the **** are you to say those things ?

its his decision let him live with it.

Re: Fashion icon or football thug?

I can't believe the fuss over it. Personally I think the design is a bit naff, but if he likes it, then good for him. You can't say everyone regrets it, although most do.

Debsy: You need to buy your bloke one of these maybe?

I sometimes wondered what having flames going up my arms like Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. (see here) Although it is a bit cheesey. I doubt i'd ever get it done though.

Re: Fashion icon or football thug?

I agree with Kronas, and I never do that It's his choice, I wouldn't care what he though of my tattoos, so why should he care what I think of his?

I don't like the design and I'd never have one there, but the design means something to him and that's the important thing, if when he's 50 he wants it rmeoved I'm sure he'll have a spare grand or 2 to get it removed.

As for people regretting having their tats, then they had them for the worng reason, I have 3, each one was done to remind me of a time, a new start, and one of them even got a bit messed up, but I love them and especially the messed up one as the fact it's messed up makes it more fitting for what it was to remind me of.

Who Ramrod is, is a free-thinking human being who is entitled to his opinion, just the same as Beckham is a (presumably) free-thinking human being who is entitled to do whatever he wants with his body. We express opinions about beliefs, situations and people on this forum every day of the week. Why are opinions about a tattoo on David Beckham's neck suddenly so heinous?

Yes, getting a tattoo was Beckham's own decision. Yes, he is the one who should be left to live with it. But why are we suddenly not allowed to observe 'I think it looks awful', or 'I predict he will regret it'?

I think you are getting confused between the right to express an opinion on a forum (which is democratic) and a right to force someone to do things your way (which is fascist). Telling someone that they have no right to express a point of view is also fascist. Let's not go there.

I think it's time to calm down now Kronas - there is no need to speak to people in this tone. Ramrod has the right to express his views without others resorting to foul language in their replies.

Re: Fashion icon or football thug?

As already said....... it's Beckham's business how he choses to decorate or defile his body, i, like debsy, quite like tattoos but depending on where they are and what they portray It's obviously a personal preference and i'd try not to judge someone by a tattoo alone... unless it's on his forehead and reads I'm a nazi b@$tard on a stylized nazi swastika and even then s/he may just have an warped sense of humour

I am surprised, however, that his tattooist agreed to do it in the first place....... most reputable tattoo artists refuse to place tattoos on any part of the body that can cannot be disguised by clothing if need be, such as on the face and hands, unless of course the person has them already But then money talks...... as does power and status.

If the question being asked is.... do you like that tattoo specifically....... then no..... not my thang

everyone is an individual in their choice, no one has the right to slag you down or off because at the end of it all he is a human being, ok hes a footballer playing for a huge club he has a high profile girlfreind so what ?

the media intrudes on them, then people buy the literature, then the media slags him and his wife down, why ?

because your all sucked in to the media mind games, one day he is a hero the next he is a villan.

what i am trying to say is stop being critical of people's choices.
Blimey, Kronie seems to have regressed 10 months ... I haven't seen posts like this from him in a LONG time.

Have to say I'm dissapointed that you have reverted to this kind of knee jerk reaction to an OPINION. I thought you had out grown this ??

Re: Fashion icon or football thug?

I really can't see what the fuss is about - as has been said, it's his body and he can choose what to do with it. Kink's pretty much summed it up - most tattooists advise against tattoos on the neck etc but Beckham has the money (and the celebrity) to just do what he wants.

The Mirror on Saturday had on their front page (and I'm paraphrasing 'cos I can't remember the exact wording) 'The tattoo that makes Beckham look like a hooligan'. It's been said before elsewhere, but it's this sort of inflammatory comment that causes problems - at the end of the day, the tattoo's not that bad (although it's not the best I've seen), and it obviously means something to him.

At the end of the day, Beckhamââ‚à ‚¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s the same as everybody else †“ if he regrets any of his tattoos in later life, heâ₠¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢ll have to pay to get rid of them (although I accept that heâ₠¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s got more money than most).

Personally, I have 3 tattoos (one on each upper arm and one on my back), but wouldnââ‚Ã⠀šÃ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t have one where it was always on show †“ I got them for myself, and show them when I want. However, the point remains that itââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s his choice so let him make it and, if there are any, let him suffer the consequences.
