Re: ......Apple?
I have to be honest, when I first read the headline, I was trying to workout how she could have given birth to an actual apple.....

Yes but giving birth to an apple would have been easier that giving birth to that baby - didn't I read she was 9lb11oz?
(Mind you I had a bigger one!)

Re: ......Apple?
Parents are sometimes so vain and venal when it comes to naming a child.
Can I please as a teacher who spends a great deal of time calling registers please ask parents to think how it will be for their offspring when the name under consideration is being called out loud by a teacher or on a loud speaker in a public building. How stupid do you feel calling out the name? How stupid might it sound to classmates during registration?
It's nothing like that song 'My name is Shirley' by the late Jonnie Cash.
It's an uneccesary cruelty to inflict on a child.
Theresa Green indeed!!!!

Very good points. I think this should be classed as cruelty.
However, isn't the song called 'My name is Sue' (how do you do )?
