Question Big Brother 5, Olympics and Wimbledon Extra Feeds

Does anyone in the know, know if we're gonna get the extra feeds this year for Big Brother, the Olympics and the football??
Last years golf and wimbledon multiscreens were very good, it was great being able to watch 4 matches at once, while flicking between the audio feeds.
I do hope we dont have to go another year without extra feeds on Big Brother, I could understand it before CR3 but there should be no excuse this year, even if other areas haven't had CR3 yet.
After all this is what Digital tv is all about.

Don't count on it - even us ex-c&W areas that had CR3 last year didn't get the extra feed...

What do you mean????
We had Wimbledon multiscreens, Open Golf multiscreens, and I'm sure it was said somewhere that we were going to have Big Brother, but they didn't have enough time to develop it.

Sorry, I was only referring to the Big Brother feed... Wasn't a member of these forums then so didn't know that is was just a lack of time in development.

Here's hoping they've had enough time to develop the technology!

Well, don't quote me on that, but I'm sure I remember hearing it.

All these toys sound wonderful- like the pointless player cam and freaky fanzone

We can live without them - or NTL can feed them on another channel (bbc wimbledon 1, 2 etc) if there is real extra content rather than revenue raising crap

No need for bloody red dots

Yeah but its not really Interactive, if its an extra channel.

Though if the extra interactive feeds are unavailable (dont see any reason for this )Then extra channels will definately suffice.

Re: Big Brother 5, Olympics and Wimbledon Extra Feeds

The multi screens for Wimbledon and Golf last year were very good, you could watch all 4 matches at the same time, and then if one was more interesting you could bring that on as the main screen. Yes the extra channels would be a good compromise but its not the same as being able to see the other matches without having to change channels.
I'd like a multi screen Big Bro so that we can have a choice who we watch, sometimes the live feed focuses on a boring bit of action, so it would be nice to filck over to some other contestants, who may be doing something more interesting. Also it would hopefully mean we can watch BB 24/7 when E4 is showing other programs.

Re: Big Brother 5, Olympics and Wimbledon Extra Feeds

Well the snooker interactive wasn't too bad, at least we got to see matches when they werent shown on tv but it was a little lacklusture.
Hope fully the Olympics and Football will be more like the Wimbledon and golf interactives, ie multiscreens with audio seperate for each. Like being able to watch all the matches/rounds and then flicking between the audio if anything interesting happens.
NOW NTL WE NEED BIG BROTHER EXTRA FEEDS THIS YEAR NO EXCUSES.

When I press the Interactive button on my NTL remote control it always says Sorry, and interactive service is not yet available for this channel. Is that what you mean when you say you require CR3? What exactly is CR3?

Sorry forget that, I went to this thread from a link straight from the nthell.co.uk website, now I've seen the sticky at the top of the forum which explains it all.

Re: Big Brother 5, Olympics and Wimbledon Extra Feeds

Olympics and Wimbledon, and Euro2000 are all a definite yes for extra coverage.

Big Brother, I don't know. A perfectly good Liberate application already exists -- Telewest were using it last year. It all depends whether NTL can come to an arrangement with Channel 4 about supplying the extra feeds.

Re: Big Brother 5, Olympics and Wimbledon Extra Feeds

It's about time we had extra feeds for Big Brother, too many times now we've been left with stuff like a naff game and pointless votes, whilst other platform users get more feeds, multi-screen whatever. If they just provided an extra channel, that would be enough. Surely this year we will finally get it? Not long to go now.
