Re: CR3: Any Feedback or Questions?

The PAT contains some info which the STB needs. In this case the box may well need replacing.

Re: CR3: Any Feedback or Questions?

This evening my father was using the stb downstairs and whilst watching Paramount tried to change to BBC1.
The box showed 101 for BBC1 but the channel on-screen still stayed on Paramount.
Channel up and down changed the channel on screen and number on the box.
Went into the guide to try and change channel, the guide came up i could not click on anything. TV returned me to the channel but again I could not change the channel by entering a number.
Turned the box on and off by the remote but no luck. Full reboot solved the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Box is a pace 4010, my location is Northampton and yes i have LCR3

Also some quick questions

Why does the mini-guide only display a few hours into the future?

Why were the colour buttons removed when it came to accesing settings? i.e. Guide then colour button for settings. As it stands now getting into settings is 'over complicted' compared to what it was.

Thanks to all

p.s. can't wait to try an e-tv application on the new software.

Re: CR3: Any Feedback or Questions?

Hi All.

I sucessfully recieved the new software this morning (after a reboot because my house-mates left the box on).

All looks good so far. However, I cannot access interactive. Ok, so i havn't been able to since I had DTV installed a few weeks ago, but seeing as i knew we'd be getting an update today, i thought i'd wait to see if it sorted it.

No such luck tho. I try to get to interactive, but get an M044 error. I have checked the Network status pages, and I have a network connection status of 5, but an STB IP address of 0.0.0.0 - which I know isn't right. Can someone get in touch with me to get this sorted please.

Many Thanks

Jon

I'd try another reboot, and see if your box gets assigned an IP address, give it 10 mins or so. If not then yuo will need to call CS. A reboot should fix tho.

The miniguide only shows the current days epg up to midnight GMT, if you try it late at night, then you will only see a couple of hours worth of data.
The guide button gives you upto 3 days info.

Are there any plans to increase the number of days info to at least 7 days and if there are any idea of when this may happen. What is the controlling factor that dictates the size if the guide?

The number of channels we have and the amount of info available on each programme.

Taking this a little further, Sky have a 7 day EPG which appears to be updated constantly throughout the day. With Sky+ I have seen a program that is due to broadcast 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm being delayed by 15 minutes due to a news story that only broke at 6:00 pm being recorded correctly at its new time of 7:15 pm to 7:45 pm.

How do Sky manage to do this and what is different to the way NTL do it.

No idea on when or whether NTL may get a 7 day EPG.

I'd quite like it to show what is on currently. Since my earlier post, the situation hasn't improved. Last night I wanted to set the cable box to change channels for certain programmes which I wanted to tape. I pressed Guide and after a long "please wait" it appeared. I pressed "all channels"...long wait... it appeared. However, all the programme information was "No information available", I pressed the +24.... "No information available". This wasn't for an obscure channel, it was for BBC1.

I turned it off, left it for 20 minutes, switched it on, left it for 10 minutes and tried again. Exactly the same. No information available.

I have the 4010 box.
