Re: Grammar question

It's interesting as Microsoft claim it is "Roy regarding this contacted you" without punctuation.
Is there a difference between our grammar and american grammar?

Personally, I'd say "Roy contacted you, regarding this"

Re: Grammar question

Yes there is.

Eats, shoots and leaves or Eats shoots and leaves highlights a number of them. THe book itself is not being re-edited for american grammer but left as is.

Re: Grammar question

Oo, the gloves are off now - I love it when all our pent-up frustration over bad spelling, grammar and punctuation starts to spill over.

And you've managed that seemingly impossible task; namely making a comment about bad spelling, grammar or punctuation without making one of these mistakes yourselves and ending up looking like a lemon!

And for the ÃÃâ€*’¼bergramm arians - would it have been better for me to have used a comma above, rather than a semicolon?

A comma, I think ... I have no idea why. It just 'feels' better.

And how many times do you think I checked and re-read my last post before I hit 'submit'?

Re: Grammar question

I chose, 'You were contacted by Roy regarding this'.

One thing bugs me though. I wonder what it was Roy contacted someone about? One thing's for sure. If he hadn't felt it necessary, we wouldn't have to give opinions on the correct way of writing about what he did.

That Roy's got alot to answer for!
