a few questions on NTL TV
hello everyone, just a few questions about the tv side of NTL.
I have a pace STB one with slot(replacement(mine)) and without slot at front(other room),
these questions, are mainly for the one without slot.
1. why does NTL channels not have the full title of the programme? (this annoys me)
2. I have a JVC widescrren tv, with scart connections to STB, DVD, Video. when I watch NTL sometimes the channel changes from my channel 6 which the tech guy tuned in for NTL, to a channel called E3, which does not show any picture but get sound, why is this? ( i think this is due to scart)
3. can I set my NTL tv, to go through my Stereo, would this have to be done through my video or DVD?
that about it for now.
cheers

Re: a few questions on NTL TV
1 - I guess a maximum number of characters is permitted in the title - there is new software rolling out that may change this for you. Where do you live. It will help peeps here understand whether you are on Langley or Bromley. Does your box have purple or blue menus?
2 - Sounds like the scart is not plugged in properly or not set up properly. On a TV like that you should really be watching the STB picture from the SCART not on channel 6 - it will look so much better.
The picture may not show as the scart is incorrectly configured, say as RGB not Composite, look in the setup menu of the STB.
3 - Yes look on the back of the box does it have red/white coax output of the stereo signal - stereo is all that they support (with Dolby Surround). If it does not then you will need to get a scart splitter or use the spare scart if there is one and a scart to phono cable. That would then connect to your stereo.
If you use the scart to connect to the TV then you can send the stereo signal from the TV to the stereo ensuring the sound and vision match.

You'll be getting a software update soon. That will change the purple and may mean you see more of the titles.
Any questions on the rest, just ask.
