Fax on Broadband

Hi folks, here's my second question of the day.
Is there anyway I can fax a doc to someone using my broadband connection, without it costing me any money?

Re: Fax on Broadband

You can use facilities on the net to email your document off to them and then they fax it for you.

It does cost money tho ...

You can also setup a dialup modem on the pc and only dial when using the fax software.

Re: Fax on Broadband

Basically if you can get the computer to recognise that it has a dialup modem installed (drivers) then you just get winfax to dial the other fax number and send the fax through that program.

Re: Fax on Broadband

plenty of companies offer what you want they let you send the fax as an email with attachment normally you send the email to Thefaxnumber@faxingcompnay.com

so i u wanted to fax 0870 165 7475 and used "efax" you just do an email to 08701657475@efax.com and they do the rest ..

efax is just one example their are a million of them

Re: Fax on Broadband

Thanks everyone for your help, I'll try Kedoo's idea first and if that doesn't work I'll try one of the online routes that have been suggested.

Re: Fax on Broadband

Very useful to know all this as faxing is the only thing stopping me from giving my phone line up altogether...
