VM 360 box.
Hi all, can any one help me with this one.
I have the 360 box & it works as it should BUT, the 360 box every time electric goes off I lose all my recordings why.
This I think might be a faulty box or hard drive I'm not sure.

Re: VM 360 box.
If you are having frequent power outages, it could impact on the box.

Do you also have to repeatedly sign into all apps? Does pressing pause and play on live TV work without any stuttering , freezing or jumping? (They also signs of a faulty hard drive)
Since all of your recordings have been lost it very much appears to be a hard drive issue so your box will need replacing, especially if the other two issues also occur.
You need to contact VM customer support either by
Call: 150 (a free call from a VM landline) or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
WhatsApp: 07803 089684
Or contact VM on Social Media by messaging either
X (Twitter) : https://twitter.com/virginmedia
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/virginmedia/
Instagram: VirginMedia
Or try the online chat messenger available Monday-Saturday 8am-8pm via My VM
https://www.virginmedia.com/myvmo2
As an aside, do you have different profiles set up? If so then the recordings might only be visible via the one profile that set them up.
Also have you tried a factory reset? (it might only be a temporary solution)
To factory reset go to Settings (the cog at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset. It's actually misnamed and only a partial system reset and not a complete factory reset. You are given 2 options
Keep Recordings
Format Disk
Select Keep Recordings, which means you won't lose your recordings, and any planned recordings, or series links you've set up. You may have to sign into your apps such as iPlayer, Prime, Netflix and ITVX again.

Recordings can be set and stored on the original tivo box, and also on the V6 and TV360 boxes (also known as the main 360 box).
There was a second TV360 box, called a mini 360 (no longer issued). This box is half the height of the main TV360 box but because it doesn't contain a hard drive it can't store recordings. However users that have a multi room subscription with both a mini box(es) and a main 360 box can set recordings via the mini box. These recording(s) are stored on the actual main 360 box.
If a customer has a Stream box then it doesn't have a hard drive and so can't store recordings, however if it's part of a multi room subscription with a main TV360 box then you can set a recording via the Stream box which will be made on the main 360 box.
Customers with a Flex subscription use the Stream box but this box does not have the facility to set or store recordings. A Flex subscription comes with a 30-day rolling contract and costs an additional £5 a month, but like all VM TV services can only be taken with a VM broadband subscription.

Re: VM 360 box.
If it's a TV 360 then the fault is probably a failing hard drive.
If it's a 360 mini, then when power is cut and restored the VM hub and both TV boxes reboot simultaneously. If the mini box boots up faster than the the main 360 box it will fail to detect the hard drive on the network and show an empty recordings menu. However the problem will either auto-rectify when the main 360 box has spun up or it may be necessary to navigate away from the "Saved" screen and coming back to it—or putting the mini box into standby via the remote for 30 seconds and waking it up—forces it to poll the local network again. The recordings will reappear immediately.
The two boxes have been described by newapollo, so let us know which one you are referring to.

Re: VM 360 box.
Thanks Guys for your help, about a week ago I had half a dozen films recorded & some tv programs the electric went off & I lost them all but today we have been getting power cuts 3 in total this time my recording are still there, so maybe it was just one of those things !
also my up & coming recordings are still set up to be recorded... All I can do is keep my eye on things & hope I don't get anymore problems.
Thanks Again Guys. I'll let you know how things go.
