As to FA Cup although it is only the final protected by the legislation FA have made it clear that they will not let it all go subscription much the same as UEFA have insisted BT make some Champions League matches FTA (which could well end up on Channel 5 if BT are successful in their Bid for it)

But as of March 11th BT has not been confirmed as bidding for Channel 5.

Interesting times ahead mate Liberty Global who own VM are no small fish either.
With Netflix already on the VM platform and Lovefilm set to appear on VM in 2014 things are already looking better for VM customers.
To add i got a reply of MGMHD too.
"Dear <name edited>,
We were alarmed to see that there is a rumour going around that MGMHD will cease broadcasting in the UK in January. First of all allow me to explain what is happening. MGMHD will not cease to broadcast on the Sky digital platform. We are currently negotiating with other providers to make MGMHD available to more people, also we are considering a streaming service too for those who can't or don't want sattelite. We cannot disclose the providers we are in talks with at the moment but let me assure you MGMHD is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
Yours sincerly
<name edited>
MGM customer service."

REALLY sorry to disagree but Netflix and LoveFilm are AWWWWWFULLLLLLLL,
I had them both on the xbox and paid for about six months, both were full of old outdated films and I felt on demand was a much better option at no cost to me!
If you like it its good, if you want to watch newer films its not!
Have fun

We shall see in a few days, have to say sounds like that if BT have put in a bid they will face stiff competition.

I've had a couple of free 1 month trials with Netflix and there isn't really enough on there to make me want to continue paying for it to be honest.
Also with Amazon Prime/Lovefilm, am currently on a free month trial of that and again I wouldn't pay the subscription for it (though found out the OH gets it free through her bank, even then doubt will use it frequently)

As for re-writing the moderators job description. I wasn't trying to do that, I was merely pointing out that the re-edited 1st post system is used in other forums successfully and would work very well here if there was a will. If there isn't, no matter. I'll just have to keep scrolling.

aye and it annoyed me that i dont know why that moderator created the thread. unless the moderator had said in advance it was going to be controlled directly by themselves. if it was i apologise if it wasnt then it was someone trying to steal MB's thunder and i found it childish and the comment to begin with very condesecending.
this is a forum and a really good one. this thread makes the most traffic i believe from what i can see. i dont know why the forum would want to stop or discourage friendly discussion. it really put me off this place to be honest.
but anyway continuing with "on topic" discussion. do we have any timescale about love film coming to VM? I really like netflix and have no idea what would be on love film.
and again cheers MB for your work and this thread. appreciated.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV 2014
All this handbags nonsense about who owns a thread. Get a grip, what does it really matter. It's this sort of turgid waffle that turned me off this thread.
And sorry MediaBoy does bring decent rumours but those huge posts including who owns food network et all are completely pointless.

I agree mate. but i found the first message completely condescending and generally rude. not talking about the ownership issue really, tho this is media boys thread.

There are rumours abound that LGI may want to get into the content world and may start with bidding for ch5.

Now if true that would be interesting.
