Re: Football : Season 08/09
Randy Lerner is one of the best chairmen in the league. Despite being American he listens to the fans and always puts them first. Not suprising he's done something like this. He's often at games and you can see there's passion there, not just business.

Such a boring game. Neither team deserved to win.

Shouldn't have gone to Penalties. United were poor but Well Done to them in the end.

Sigh...
FYI... Man United have a higher percentage of season ticket holders living in Manchester postcode areas than Man City.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
I thought it was a decent game, chances for both sides throughout the match, it just lacked goal's. Fair play to Spurs, they didn't just sit back like some teams do against us, they really had a go. Although it went to penalties i think the better team on the day won, especially as we should have had a penalty in the second half.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
I applaud Spurs for there performance, and the way they held Man Utd, l do honestly believe, the game should have gone to a replay. Such as done before, This is the way Spurs have been built, my only moan is, why can't Spurs play that in the PL, Well played lads.

I ask that question about many a team in the Prem when they play UTD! I know we are a huge scalp to take, but even players at the bottom of the Prem are on good five figure wages, that should be enough. Watch Spurs go back to mediocrity on Wed.

The best chairmen are the ones that are never heard from. Doug Ellis was a prime example, on the TV more than the manager.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
The boys in Pink, Oldham Athletic v Leeds.
http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/ne...g-on-the-blues
I thought this was funny.
'Even Chaddy the Owl swopped his blues for pinks leading to complaints from Leeds players who said they were confusing the 8ft owl with Latics players!'
Leeds fans haven't changed much over the years.
The lone arrest was a Leeds fan who was charged with assault. He is alleged to have broken the back off a seat in the Rochdale Road Stand and flung it hitting one of his own team’s supporters.
Jim.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
Watching man utd maul fulham yesterday i realised why utd are so good. In my opinion they are the only team in the prem that having a 3 goal lead with 15 min to go, still press for a 4th. Everyone else would have just sat back at 2-0 let alone 3 nil.

No, Arsenal certainly wouldn't have. Except in our case recently, we probably wouldn't have a 3 goal lead in the first place and our pressing for another goal would lead us to conceding instead.
