Is that right or is that gollox? The latter, I think.
Competition Law is all about companies not abusing a dominant position or in some way acting so as to stifle or suppress competition.

You are correct. It would be a potential breach of insider trading law.

Re: Channel rumours ban - Make an official statement Virgin Media!
As I have been away from the forum for a while...All I can say is hang in there Mediaboy!
Back a few years ago, this was my main reason for visiting was the "Coming Soon" threads as it had good info which was not made availbvle to Virgin Media customers by VM.
On a side note - I think if VM are trying to throw there weight around on public forums (not owned/run by VM) then it could turn out very bad PR wise if someone was to blow the issue out of the water.
In the buisness they run, they will never ever be able to stop the rumor machine and would be in the best intrests to engage with the customers in a more direct and personal way where they can advise us of whats "Coming Soon".
But knowing VM, money is more important than customer relations. Hence why we have the legend Mediaboy!
Keep the faith!

What do you mean by that? Wasn't it established that the PM about rumours causing problems with channel launches did not come from VM? Do you have other examples to illustrate your assertion? I'm asking purely out of interest.

Nope...I misread...my apologies .
However, I think one of the mods mentioned VM have historically asked for info to be removed from the site...which is just as bad in my view.
