If they put up the sports package by £12 then their phones will be red hot with subscription cancellations in my opinion.

I suspect £12 will be a bit off the mark I do expect quite a big rise though to cover the start of the new TV deal which starts in August

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
Yes, that would be a stupid move by Sky. I subscribed to the sport channels for many years for my son in law really, who would occasionally watch the football. With the last price rise I cancelled it because it seemed like a waste of money just to pay out such an amount each month for an occasional viewing.
A £12 a month increase will lead to only the diehard sport fanatics (no offence, I meant that kindly!) being prepared to pay such a price.
Sky have milked this as much as they can. The law of diminishing returns will now cut in.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
BT's portfolio has devalued Sky's sports offering imo. Its probably overpriced as it is.
To even consider a (another) price hike of that magnitude would be suicide. Their number of subscribers would be slashed in an instant.

Indeed they lost the Champions league and Europa league yet they still are relentlessly increasing their prices.

Maybe the increase is only effectively £5pm if the £7pm HD fee is removed? This would still be a steep rise though.

It's not just about the amount of sporting rights Sky has, it's also the price they pay for them.

Indeed they have way overpaid for those rights and are now preparing to claw them back relentlessly in the next few years as customers are going to find out.
