But there is still a choice, that's the point. They can choose from a provided STB, a TiVo (using cableCARD) or a HTPC (using cableCARD).

Is the Free Installation offer still on for Tivo with existing customers and do you get to keep V+ box that you currently have and can move it else where in your home?

Yep, still free installation. I had my V+ moved for free, although have to pay £6.50 a month on that (was offered free in June, but couldn't afford the outlay till July so missed out on this). My bill arrived today and they tried to charge me £15 for "extra V box", which I don't have, but cutosmer relations sorted that by correcting it with a discount. Unfortunately they also migrated my broadband from M to L (apparently they "had" to do that, but failed to tell me) and took off my loyalty discount, but retentions have sorted that. Awaiting an amended bill!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Just to let those interested know that Tivo does not know about the special Question Time tonight that was scheduled and announced a couple of days ago.
Pathetic really.
I can understand the need to add padding as schedulers do not stick to times but a complete program not in the EPG that is billed as a major special and has been advertised for the past couple of days........

The cancelled football match was never corrected either. The EPG still showed the match even when it was substituted with an Episode of Lewis!

Yes it does, it depends when your box last connected for an epg update. Question time special is on mine and if you do a manual connection it will be on yours too.

John.

I didn't have to manually update mine it updated by itself, however they all connect for an epg update at different times, if its left it will correct the epg the next time its scheduled.

John.

I have to agree, I think Tribune are doing a shabby job so far.
I have logged this discrepancy with VM and Tivo and asked if Tribune are up to the job.
