Re: 3D using TiVo

More to the point, it was actually being used as the reason why you can't yet buy glasses free 3d televisions. There is nothing wrong with the 2d picture quality on current 3d televisions which use glasses.

HD boy has misunderstood the one article which he has used to back most of what he has said in this thread.

Considering the person that said that was from Which magazine. Which magazine test TVs out.

But they haven't tested glasses free televisions because, as the article states, they're not currently available!

There is nothing to suggest that the 2d picture quality on currently available 3d televisions suffers apart from your own post. The article you're relying your post doesn't contain any basis for what you've said.

Don't take any tech advice from either the BBC news site or Which you will get far better info from places like Cnet, Engadget, the Verge. Generally I can't fault the been for their news but some of the stuff I have read from their tech reporters in the past is laughable.

Plus what has dork and North America got to do with one another? Last time I checked they speak English there as well.

Re: 3D using TiVo

Originally a corruption of Dick, British army slang for penis. The yanks may have popularised it's use, and it's meaning might be slightly different now, but we had it first. Sorry!

Re: 3D using TiVo

That's not the meaning I know - it's a term I picked up when I worked with septics in the USAF/NSA in the 70's/80's.

Well i found this on wikipedia

Quote:
Dork may refer to:

American/Canadian slang for a quirky, silly and/or stupid, socially inept person, or one who is out of touch with contemporary trends. Often confused with nerd and geek, but does not imply the same intellectual proclivity.

Vulgar slang for "penis"

All 3D glasses are fine to wear on top of regular specs and quite comfortable.

Is that because so many people have proved your 'theory' as rubbish yet again. With no actual evidence to back up your so called 'theory'

zantarous has said their tech reporters in the past are laughable. So i will now say that the BBC link is rubbish.
