Re: connection problem ?

Having tried yet again with CS for a solution and after clearing cache/history/cookies/resetting security/ it seems that the problem is with my system as i can run in safe mode with networking and all sites work ok without specifying a proxy.
I am at present running fresh install with nowt but os and drivers.
I would welcome any pointers to probable cause, I can't suss this with my limited knowledge.

Re: connection problem ?

really annoying me now this, i'm in scunthorpe and have had a really poor connection for the past 2 days, no email and can only browse the web by using a non ntl proxy as the ntl proxies on robin walkers site all do not work, tried changing the dns as suggested in this topic, worked for about 10 seconds then hung again. can find nothing on the service status page except planned maintanance crap, no real answers as usual.

been at brother in laws house tonight, also in scunthorpe and he has no problems.

Re: connection problem ?

The proxy servers are listed on our site as well and I can assure you that they do work (most of them anyway). All the Nottingham ones certainly do as I use them.

There were a couple of threads recently about Scunthorpe problems...perhaps they've returned...

Re: connection problem ?

i have now got the proxy servers to work, however it's not the solution i was hoping for really, i know if i ring CS they will say my pc is the problem not theirs, i know it's not my pc. maybe somebody else in the scunny area is having problems and can verify this so maybe CS can investigate.
