Faster GUI, whether that is via better CPU/GPU and RAM or just optimising the TiVo OS.

I know of other providers that have plans to put cloud storage in place.
+1 you have summed up my thoughts nicely. A faster lower power cooler box that streams fromt the cloud.

To keep costs undercontrol you could be limited to say 1TB of storage but you would be ablee to buy add on storage if you wanted to.

Re: Next Generation VM TiVo what would you like to see ?

It would be better if they just gave you it in hours as such. So 200 hours to record what you want, whether its SD, HD or 4K. No matter the quality of your recordings.

Having the connectors/bays/cooling to add optional storage increases the cost and decreases reliability, even if you don't use them.

But then if you recorded only SD you'd be wasting 90% of the space.

We record in SD as HD simply soaks up too much memory in our book.

Re: Next Generation VM TiVo what would you like to see ?

I work away a lot so the facility to watch my recorded shows on the move on my laptop.

there is the odd occasion when all 3 tuners are in use and another would have been nice but i can usually get round that some how.

some sort of multi room would be nice.

Would rather have more HD but a pick your own channels. Really hate the fact we pay for so many channels we never use in order to get HD content.

In this respect Virgin really does feel like a rip off vs other options such as Netflix etc.
