No, what I'm saying is we will post it. VM (or any other company) won't know who to contact other than the team member concerned. If it's a legal authority we will of course comply.

Re: Channel rumours ban - Make an official statement Virgin Media!
If it were not for this forum, specifically a post by Media Boy on internet upgrade speeds, I would've still been on 30mb. Because of one his "rumours" I phoned up VM and upgraded my speeds to 60mb for free, 9 months before the official launch of 60mb in my area.
I tried to give him a reputation ranking at the time for it, but the forum said I had to spread the "love" out to others, so it wouldn't let me do it. So a public thanks from me now (very late!) for that information.
Sometimes all the rumours and guff is not rubbish and if it were not for forums like this, we'd all be in the dark about many things.

Re: Channel rumours ban - Make an official statement Virgin Media!
Rumours are rumours and everyone is entitled to free speech
MB you make it clear enough what is fact and rumour so i say keep on with your fine work. for the said 5 or so who appear to hate it there are 1000 more who enjoy it (and may not be so vocal)
If people want to release information then thats their choice but intimidation and bullying through the use of threat is simply not right and I am grateful for Russ and the CF Mod for that statement above.
Just because they dont like what they see here doesnt give them the right to abuse and name call on another thread; if you dont like it simply ignore

If there is legitimate info that someone wants posted but for whatever reason is concerned about repercussions then send myself or one of the team a PM and we will post it on your behalf in complete confidence.
In the past VM have contacted us asking us to remove certain things and each time we have refused them point-blank. What they (or any other company) considers 'sensitive' or 'damaging' is their problem, not ours. We are not out to make trouble for anyone but we do not dance to their tune. There was a time we had a healthy working relationship with VM where we could help customers get issues resolved but one day they simply stopped responding and have since made it clear they no longer wish to participate in this relationship, and dropped us.
If we are approached by the police, a court or any other legal authority we will of course comply but removing something just because a company asks us to? No way.
I reiterate, any legitimate rumours or stories that people want posted in complete confidence can be sent to us for posting.

That post/statement was a pleasure to read and is the main reason I consider this forum to be the best, myself and I'm sure the other 2 posters(you all know who we are )this is in reference to would like to thank you for clearing cable forums stance.

VM wouldn't have a leg to stand on anyway mate , the courts would simply say "if you didn't want the info getting out why did you tell people in the first place?" end of the day this is a discussion forum which has rumours on it about tv/phone services etc. It's not causing any damage to any company.

Well the post below should help resolve your fears. Please don't stop posting rumours! I do think there should be increased moderation in what is the biggest thread on these forums.

Fantastic post, and thanks for clearing everything up. The people who made those disgraceful pm should be name, shamed and banned imo.

Re: Channel rumours ban - Make an official statement Virgin Media!
could it be that MB's insider is close to being caught and has to lie low for a while.
could it be one of those gagging orders.
could it be blackmail
could it be ?

Re: Channel rumours ban - Make an official statement Virgin Media!
I congratulate Russ for placing his comment on this forum.
We get all the info from this forum, and it gives us something to look forward to and and argue.
Lets put it this way. VM don't give us anything, they are well known for keeping us in the dark and the PR is very poor - very poor.
Its this forum that keeps us informed and it will keeo doing it.
