They can't increase your signal from the office, even if it was that causing the issue
I don't know why some staff say things like this! It's some setting on your tv that isn't keeping it set to WIDE or it's a scart lead issue... some tv's (especially older models) sometimes need pin 8 removed as switching channels sends a signal to the tv via this pin).
do you still have the scart lead you had with Sky? Try connecting with that... it may have pin 8 removed.

Re: please help with TV and Box
It is normal for some channels to switch to 4:3 which is a pain in the rear. Most TV's have a setting where you can keep it set from Auto to Wide so that the picture doesn't automatically change format. The box should be set to widescreen and the TV wide. Have a look through the settings to see if you can set it permanently to wide.

Re: please help with TV and Box
Is your TV connected to the VCR scart on the set-top box? If so, change it to the TV Scart.

Re: please help with TV and Box
Post a list of all settings in your TV menu and what they are set at. Perhaps we can spot something that is a miss. If you knew the model number I might have been able to look in a manual.

Yes, but there are 2 scart connectors on the back of the V+ box, one marked VCR and one marked TV. If your TV is connected to the VCR scart you will only get 4:3 pictures. Make sure that the TV is connected to the TV scart on the back of the V+ box.

Re: please help with TV and Box
Turn off the picture aspect auto switching within your Toshiba menus. That'll sort the problem out.
Oh you've already discovered it, I'll read the whole of the thread in future....
