In 2000 I was optimistic that the new millenium would herald a new era in human endeavours & understanding but nothing has actually changed, we're still detroying each other & the planet. So no change there then really.

Events of the noughties - not having to worry about thermonuclear war or the Soviet tank brigades coming through the Fulda Gap, being happy that people in the UK and NI don't have to worry (as much as before) about IRA (and/or it's barsteward offspring organisations) bombs, the increase in computer processing power and storage at affordable prices, which is changing our daily life, the election of Obama in the US of A, and 9/11, which has changed our political landscape for the next couple of decades (imho).

Great post foreverwar, when you look at that list of accomplishments we haven't done to badly at all...funny how we seem to forget what just a short time ago was on the evening news nightly.
