Re: fed up with vista
no joy, windows is still blocking because it can't verify publisher, and i can't overide it, keeps coming back with the same message, although it allows me to go through the process, but comes up with the same message at the end ( as above )

Re: fed up with vista
user account on, click virtual tour, blank window with red x, bar at top, message, int. exp. stopped this site from installing active x, click option, click install active x, window titled (user account control ) needs permission, click continue, window (int. exp. add on security warning) windows has blocked this software because it can't verify publisher, click ok, back to blank window with red x.
no dark screen.

Re: fed up with vista
can enable uac now if you like... one other thing you could try is to run a system file check - this will confirm that the original vista files are all ok...
System file check is run from a command prompt, but you'll need to be running as an administrator... do the following:
Click Start, type cmd into the Start/Search box, right-click cmd.exe in the list above and select 'Run as Administrator'.
Then type in sfc /scannow and then hit return
the system file check will run - it may ask for the Vista installation cd, so make sure that is in the cd drive...
Once its completed, reboot the pc and try again...

Re: fed up with vista
ok reboot pc once your past boot before vista starts press the F8 key this should give you the option of safe mode. Take that and log in as administator. Goto control panel users and change your user to administator if it isnt already if it is then create a new admin account and reboot pc. Log into admin and try again

Hi Ben B,
Sorry I didn't see your message before my last post.
I have tried since to snip, but I cannot get image to forum, any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong. Tired and fed up, will try again tomorrow.
Regards Flip

Click the 'Go Advanced' button next to 'Post Quick Reply' and scroll down a bit. Click the button called 'Manage Attachments' and you'll see 3 boxes with 3 buttons called 'Browse'. Click the first Browse button, find the image file on your PC, click Upload.
Then you can close the Attachment form. You'll need to type something in the post text box as well (as you normally would for a reply).
