fed up with vista

Hi everyone,

I am fed up with Vista, or at least I think I am. I have been used to XP, without any problems, even with Norton 360( no comments please). I now have a laptop running Vista Home premium, and I have been looking at hotels to book a holiday, but Windows won't let me view virtual tours. I have disabled several things in security regarding control x without any joy. I am a dumbo when it comes to computers, so can anyone offer advice on how to solve this problem without putting my computer at risk.

Regards Flip

Norton 360 is on my old XP laptop, but have Avast freebee on my new Vista laptop the one I am having problems with. So now you maybe in the mood to help with a positive suggestion this time.

Hi Zinglebarb,
Thanks for your suggestions, but I have logged on to Google flash player sites, and all I seem to see are, how to cure flash player problems. My computer knowledge is very basic, so I don't want cause myself any more problems. I've looked up what I want on my old computer. Thanks once again.

Hi,
Downloaded Adobe, same story, message says, " windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher " no problem on XP with Java.

Re: fed up with vista

This may just be a case of the wrong button being hit at the wrong time, have you tried resetting IE7 security options back to default?

Re: fed up with vista

Hi Paul,
Security was set to default, , the computer is virtually out of the box, but I have since tried the lowest settings for Internet, local etc. Under these settings it still says "unsigned active x controls will not be downloaded " don't know if this is relevant. What's admin powers by the way.
