War is just a game, people need to read the art of war by Sun Tzu n stop kidding themselves its all manufactured, and soldiers are little more than puppets in there game, they risk there lives to be mind controlled to carry out tasks without asking questions and to kill many, ive seen unreal amounts of video's of UK and US soldiers killing innocent iraqi's, innocent kids, beating up kids.
This is invasion and the iraqi's are fighting imperialism like anyone would do if hell was brought to the streets of your town beyond your control and then was controlling them blowing them up, killing your families members.
Lets get real now n stop acting like there the heroes.
its divide n conquer, conquer and conquest.

Re: Yet another bunch of *******
I feel sad that people who risk their lives for their country take so much abuse.
Certainly, when unhappy with the war that is ensuing, you take your views to someone higher, not the men and women in uniform - heroes with such courage it beats most of us.

Exactly! Its a bit like shouting at the poor customer service person on the phone. Is it his fault the company he works for is so incompetent?

So I suppose you would have liked us not have gotten involved in WW2 then, when a certain Mr Hitler was on his little escapade?

Read it, not sure why it makes you think it's a game. The book to me was more about philosophy that could be applied to any type of conflict

I have to say though how are they risking their lives for their country in a godforsaken place like Iraq? they are risking their lives for oil and politics simple as if it was for human rights the Robert Mugabe would have had his ass kicked and be left hanging from a gibbet by now. Afganistan is a war that we can not win the Russians failed and there hands were not tied by left wing ideals. Its about time the Yanks learnt a hard lesson from their failures (ie Vietnam Korea) and stop throwing innocent lives at it

Re: Yet another bunch of *******
The armed services uniform is a uniform just like any other "works" uniform. There is logic and reason to wearing it when travelling to and from work and whilst at work. There is no logic or reason to wear it at any other time.
The only other time it might be worn would be at ceremonial occasions, i.e forces wedding, funeral etc.
What would be the reason for wearing a forces uniform for example during normal social occasions or day to day activities outside "work" time?

I'd imagine while the media reports "uniform" it's actually any military clothing, such as fatigues.

My mate who is in the Army and who was in Nothern Ireland about a year ago was also told not to wear his uniform when leaving them camp, due to the fact of safety reasons. Its just another none story to me.

Re: Yet another bunch of *******
To be honest, this just seems to be another thing our country can't pride itself over, its not enough that soon ENGLAND will not be England - it will be engpolish/muslim/turkish/indian/+ every other religion thats having a little bitof trouble
I believe our armed forces should wear their uniform with pride, it's part of our patrioism. Which is just what our country needs..
I for on

No, this is just another none story.
Its done for the safety of the people supposed to be wearing the uniform, plain and simple, there is nothing more to it.

You always have to be the opposite don't you. I hope you never have to depend on them . But there again your probably the sort that would complain they did not help you fast enough in that case

You don't seem to realise that those hurling abuse at the service men and women are English.
I've seen it and had a go at those giving the abuse, and met a torrent of "They should have refused to go" and "It's illegal, they should be done for war crimes" etc.
Thankfully most people (outside government anyway) do appreciate members of the armed forces, whether they agree with the war or not.

What you talking about?
The are told they cannot wear their uniform outside of the base or whatever it was, it is done for their own safety. What has what they are allowed to wear or not got anything to do with needing help from them?
