iirc its not the water that kills it, its the minerals/chemicals. soak a phone in deionised water, dry it out and it will suffer no ill effects*
*theoretically. i'm not suggesting anyone tries it on their new £300 phone!

Re: Washed phone.
With luck your sim card will be fine.
I'd get something like this too...
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=s...G&title=587000
Just in case it happens again. You can do a weekly/monthly backup of the sim just in case.

Re: Washed phone.
Ok!As we type my son has just tried to ressurect it yet again.Guess what? Yes it has just worked.Lucky little s*d!
Guess the suggestion that he was paying for a new one galvanised him...
Will see what happens AFTER it has recharged.

Personally I wouldn't plug it in until it has had time overnight to fully dry out or any moisture still lingering in the phone could short it out.

Re: Washed phone.
What sort is it? I'm impressed......
I'd still get the sim copier if it's in the hand of an accident prone person

I agree, however its a low risk as chargers are only 9 or 12 volts and mA's of current so you dont get much chance of tracking

Should be safe to plug in then lol. If you plug them in before they dry then then more often than not you will completely ruin them. It might be that the lifespan of the phone is shortened now but it should be ok for a while. Time enough for him to save his pocket money up

Re: Washed phone.
He's actually having a better day than he deserves. His father has brought him home a second hand Tv/Monitor which means he can keep the £300+ that he has been saving for a TV so he could play his Xbox in his room.
Bah! This now means I have to go to his room to play Fable. a most smelly experience.
