Re: Intel blunders again!

I dunno, I'm not that bothered about Opterons and things TBH.
I do like AMD and am faithful to them (I'm very happy with my FX-53), everyone has a brand they know and love and I'll always be an AMD guy especially as (AFAIK) they are the only ones to offer 64-bit desktop chips.
You like your Intel, I like my AMD - they all have advantages but I predict that Intel will become a niche market before long.

Re: Intel blunders again!

Looks like Intel had the first demo of a dual core CPU, the 64-bit Itanium 2

Oh, and Intel demonstrated a dual core Pentium 4 at IDF about a week after AMD's demo

Personally, I go for whatever's best for my money at the time. I'm thinking of either getting a 90nm Athlon 64 or wait for dual core next year. I loved my old Athlon "Thunderbird" 1.4GHz (R.I.P )
