Re: Gbrowser?

Another cautionary note:

Quote:
Speculation about the Google browser has intensified following a news story in the New York Post.

The story said that four people who worked on Microsoft's web browser have recently been recruited to work at Google.

One of the new recruits to Google, Adam Bosworth, is thought to have had a pivotal role in the development of Internet Explorer.
(From http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3680942.stm )

Is it a good thing to employ former IE developers for a new browser, especially those whose role was 'pivotal'?

India may power Google's instant messenger

Geodesic is believed to be working on a prototype of what could be Google's instant messenger.

An Indian company could power internet giant Google's next killer application. Geodesic Information Systems, a Mumbai-based company listed on the BSE, is believed to be running a pilot project for what could some day be the Google Instant Messenger. Sources told CNBC-TV18 that the company got the go-ahead to develop the prototype after meeting Google's founders in Mountain View, California.
intresting stuff....

Re: Gbrowser?

some interesting points raised in this thread. I too would like to see Google adopt Firefox as its official browser... provided they didn't try to make it all corporate-like.

As Chris T (sorry mate, can't rep you again) correctly says, Google as a brand is unbelievably widespread. My sister, a relative non-PC literate person (despite her job, which is a kinda scarey thing...can't divulge the details, but it freaks me out just to think about it!) has heard of Google, and she can even tell you what Google Whacking is all about!

This could be the thing to knock M$ down a peg or two.
