Nothing to do with release dates either, sebastion. It was a technical problem, relating to transcoding from MPEG4 to MPEG2 according to spiderplant.

Ah, but on programs like Nature, the HD really shines through.

I once said HD was a waste of time as normal Digital was enough for me, however, now I will always watch the HD variant of the channel if available

Really chuffed about the ITV HD suite launching on VM at last!

Just a shame ITV's On Demand content isn't going to be available until later in the year.

Well when you put it like that, maybe we shouldn't bother with TV at all and get off our @rses and go help these people!

I think most people on here feel the moaners are being a bit inpatient, some bordering on childishness, but your comments are surely a wee bit extreme!?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.

Media Boy, there are channels out there that can be on the VM system, but are not.

Premier Sports, Atlantic (no not again people will say) and True Movies Two etc, l think what a major problem with VM, is that they like to cause frustration with customers over channels.

I would love to see regional channels ie STV channels on the WHOLE VM network all over the UK.

For STV for example l go to Sky Freesat on the Add Channels list.

I think that if VM is nationwide, then we should get those channels. This may be the start of another discussion thread, but there must be lots of members that would love to know what is happening in other area's of the UK.

As usual Media Boy, thanks for your hard work.

That is only possible because the satellite STV broadcast on covers the whole of the UK. It's not available on Freeview across the UK

The only way VM would be able to broadcast STV (and UTV) in England and Wales is if ITV agreed to it. It would also require some technical work to get STV sent to every headend in the VM network.

Same applies for the regional variations. It would require not only the agreement of the broadcaster, but also some technical changes to take the local feeds and send them across the country.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.

The only other SD Channel I'd really like (aside from the others already mentioned, Food Network & Sony Movies & Sky Atlantic) is The Travel Channel.

They are now owned by Scripps who also own Food Network & the US version of Travel Channel, are due to relaunch in the next few weeks to match the style and some programming of the US Travel Channel, and have recently announced that they are to launch on Freesat to coincide with the relaunch, so who knows maybe they are in talks with Virgin too?

Yeah you're right. If only Virgin were a media company and this was their bread and butter. Jesus wept.

Still, whatever the reasons I'm pleased they're here. ITV 4 hd was pretty much the only channel on my wishlist.
