Question Constant connection attempts from different IP addresses and ports???

Can anyone have a look at my router log below and explain it.
It appears that there are lots of IP addresses trying to connect to my IP address on various ports. My router is working in that is Drops the attempt but why I'm I being bombarded with these connection attempts?
Should NTL be blocking all these before they even get to me?
Would all these connection attempts have an impact on the speed of my connection?
Should I ask NTL to give me a different IP address and would it even make a difference if they did or do all NTL IP addresses get spammed with connections attempts like this?

Thanks for any answers you can provide,

Anthony

I bet that's what it is. The last torrent tracker you connected to never released your IP address and is sending the swarm your way.

Yes I have used bit torrent, but have not used it for a day or two now.
Can I stop it or will it just stop itself eventually?

it will stop itself eventually, it isn't anything to worry about though really.

the connection attempt on port 6881 was the give away

Your firewall is doing it's job and blocking the connection attempts anyway
