You don’t want to be doing that - you’ll get taxed at 40% or 45% the first month, and won’t get the overpayment back till the following year…

It couldn’t work while the ECHR and the Human Rights Act remained in place, which hadn’t dawned on Sunak until after he made his six promises to judge him by!
There’s nothing else that would have prevented it from working as far as I know.
It’s always a good idea to amend or end existing legislation that gets in the way of proposed changes a government wants to make.
