				Sky Stream Opinions

			Hello,

I stopped working for VM a few years ago, and lost my staff discount. I have stuck with them, but now I am considering my options.

I can get a lot more for my money with Sky Stream, basically their top package plus sky sports and Netflix premium for around £70 a month. I am currently paying around £80 a month for VM with no sky sports, plus Netflix on top. Skys FTTP package will be slightly slower than my VM connection (think it was 150 vs 250), but I really wouldn’t notice. Would also be 1 STB from sky, compared to 2 from VM, but my second VM box hasn’t been switched on for over a year.

Before I pull the trigger, just wondering what people’s opinions were on the Sky Stream platform?

Thanks

I would just point out that it might be better to do a comparison between Sky Stream and Virgin Stream (now Flex). The VM box only costs a fiver pm and you can choose which streamers you add and therefore most of what you pay. I’m not sure offhand how the costs work out on the sports package - that might be what clinches it for you.

To be fair I haven’t had Sky Sports for years, I just want to get back into watching football and as it comes in cheaper than what I’m paying VM even with it. I currently have Netflix and now tv, so I will cancel both of those, so I actually go from paying around £110 a month down to around £70 a month and have more then I currently have, so package wise I’m much better going with Sky, so really I just want to know more about the Stream platform, such as reliability, picture quality, etc. Also assume I will get the standard freeview channels on there via stream without having to go into individual apps? As in I would have a standard EPG to go through, pick a channel and watch it?

I much prefer Sky Q as the box records and stores downloads on it. Where as the stream rely on catch up and on demand services.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind still being able to record, but it’s being phased out across the board isn’t it?

I think its hard(er) to get now if you dont already have it, but its not being phased out.
