External hard drive recommendations

So, I've had a HD camcorder for a little over 18 months and now I've filled up my Mac's internal drive.

I've done a fair bit of economising over the past few months and I am now genuinely at the point of needing to shift my stuff off the Mac for external archiving. I'm thinking about a 2 or 3TB model, USB 2 compatible and powered from the USB, and absolutely must be under £100.

What's my best option here, for retailer and quality within my budget?

I bought my Toshiba 2.5 inch drive for my daughters laptop but she changed her mind about it.

I then bought a caddy to put the drive in and it works just fine.

You won't get any 3TB drives powered from the USB port.

Thanks, that's worth knowing. I'm trying to future proof myself but 2TB is enough storage for now. I need it to be unobtrusive and inexpensive, so Mrs isn't constantly reminded that I've been out buying technology.

Look into a NAS drive.

Plug into your router and access anywhere in the world.

Couldn't live without mine. Doesn't fit the description of usb powered only though. Cheaper than a 3TB simple NAS you could probably get a usb + mains powered 3 or 4TB 3.5" disk which be reliable for longer + usb caddy.
