So it appears that any country in the EU that has CB has to "share it" with countries that don't as long as the parents are paying compulsory NI's in the country they are working in .

Since quite a lot of the parents are only earning minimum wage or very close that won't be a lot of NICs paid ,about a fiver a week NICs and about 8 quid for tax .I don't think those maths add up to cover the cost

It looks that way, but I've not found the exact reasoning.

Probably not, but it may well be that this thing is an unintended consequence of some other policy rather than a deliberate policy in itself.

Just had a look through the HMRC pages about this and it appears that the child benefit (and all other compulsory NICs based benefits) are only payable after 1 full year of working and paying NICs .The same rule applies should English nationals work abroad .

From what i can understand we are only topping up CB to make up the difference between the 2 countries benefits

Should you decide to claim UK Child Benefit, the Child Benefit Office will consider which country should pay you the money. If there is a difference in the amounts paid by each country, you could get a 'top-up' so that you don't lose out

It all stems down to the fact that they are paying NICs and tax while working here ,that entitles them to public funds ,which includes benefits ,schools and hospitals after 1 year of contributions.The tax and NICs paid by British nationals who live and work in this country is nowhere near enough to pay for those services so how the contributions from a few 100k migrant workers can offset there use of public funds is beyond me

Well its yet another reason for me to hate the EU simple as that.

That sort of policy for all member states only points to the desired creation of a European superstate to me and that is something the citizens of the nations involved have never been asked if they want ,or those that where, were asked in such a way that yes was the only answer

Sorry to say but l said this happening, but members kept saying that l am moaning about governments.

There are loopholes in the benefit system, where people come to this country and sign on and then send money abroad, this cannot be right.

Each government that has run this country can stop this from happening, but nothing is done. A major problem is that to this government, they are making severe cuts to the vulnerable people in the UK, but the blatantly allow this to happen, this is why people come to this country, or are born in this country then send 'our' money abroad and it perfectly legal - well its got to stop.

The government can stop this tomorrow, all they have to do is get a law through parliament to say if you come to this country or are born in this country BUT want to send benefit abroad - you must go through stringent checks, that they actually live in that country. or you have been in this country longer than FIVE years and have an insurance number.
