you can do one of 2 things dude. You can/should ring tech support to get someone out to fix it or if you dont want the ball ache of calling India, you can buy yourself one of these

Re: Just been upgraded from 10mb to 20mb, but know my internet is slower!
ok sorry. no harm in trying this. OP do a pinhole reset on the Hub. it may be glitched. follow these instructions...

Re: Just been upgraded from 10mb to 20mb, but know my internet is slower!
Again, TH - putting people to the trouble of a pinhole reset on the offchance it might work is not good advice. All the router settings so painfully (sometimes) established are lost and this is a humble single channel modem and there's really no need.
Sorry, TH.
The first thing that TinyT needs is a forward path attenuator as advised by mon General.

Re: Just been upgraded from 10mb to 20mb, but know my internet is slower!
id rather try things to solve a problem while waiting for a tech than do nothing worrying about any settings i had set to the hub. again no harm in trying. its not like the Hub will stop working.

Never quite sure what the levels should be but here is another VMDG280 to compare against
Downstream Channel
Lock Status Locked Modulation QAM256
Channel ID 148 Symbol Rate 6952000
Downstream Frequency 315000000 Hz Downstream Power 6.0 dBmV
SNR 40.8 dBmV
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upstream Channel
Lock Status Locked Modulation QAM16
Channel ID 4 Symbol Rate 5120 Ksym/sec
Upstream Frequency 27400000 Hz Upstream Power 48.7 dBmV
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Primary Downstream Service Flow
Downstream(0)
SFID 15334
Max Traffic Rate 21480000 bps
Max Traffic Burst 3044 bytes
Mix Traffic Rate 0 bps
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Primary Upstream Service Flow
Upstream(0)
SFID 15333
Max Traffic Rate 1180000 bps
Max Traffic Burst 8160 bytes

Over the last day the Upstream power 46.6 dbv to 47.2 dbv so I thing that is stable. The speed using The Cable Forum checker is 19.5 Mb to 20.2 Mb which is very good.

Re: Just been upgraded from 10mb to 20mb, but know my internet is slower!
Ken - the point I wished to make is that your upstream is working at half speed because you're on QPSK modulation (2 bits/symbol rather than 4 on QAM16). If that doesn't matter to you, fine. I couldn't live with it because of what I need the internet for.
Cheers

Re: Just been upgraded from 10mb to 20mb, but know my internet is slower!
If memory serves it switches to QPSK from QAM usually when there is an issue on the line.

Yeah - Noise. 2 bits/symbol allows for more potholes than 4 bits/symbol.
