To your specific comments, I don't know the actual costings but I'm sure that "corporate BS" (whatever that was supposed to mean) has actually paid for most of the costs. Happy to be corrected though
Also, to your comment about the cost now the country's financial situation has changed somewhat. Exactly what were we supposed to do/say? "Really sorry and all that, but there won't be any Olympic Games this summer as we can't afford it!". Yes, I'm sure that would have gone down well with everyone
|
I dare say the usual suspects - Arthur et al - would have come out of the woodwork bleating on about how we can't ever seem to manage a party in a pub and the media would've launched their very own "OlympicsGate" blame-fest to fill their pages/airtime. All the success and positivity really must be so hard for some people to bear...

It's a great achievement, but not sure he should be in both the Olympics and the paralympics. I think he should pick one or the other.
Still, he did excellent.

Why? What the problem with him being in both events?

It seems a little greedy, and a case of having your cake and eating it?
If you want to run with the big boys, run with the big boys, and leave special events behind you.

Been eating a bit of humble pie today, cant take anything away from the British Olympic champions.
And for the first time since it started I actually sat & watched all the cycling that was on BBC1.

Sports personality of the year will be a tough call this year.
Simply astounding performances from Jessica and Mo last night. The final lap of the 10k was awesome.
