I think it's more likely location than speed. All the posts I've seen complaining with identifiable locations are in the south. I'm OK in the midlands and it says you're warrington.
=== edit ===
I see Sirius says he has issues in Warington though. OK --- I've no idea.

It ain't just down South.
I am in South Manchester on 10M BB. Symptoms exactly as described here. I had to connect to these forums via 3G on my iPhone to find a work around (webcache...) hence me being able to post this.
The VM status page says 'All good' - My arse.

More rats?

Typical VM response though on the service status page. Denial, that is.

supernews and giganews are on the same servers, supernews is a reseller for Giganews.
My giganews is only working via VPN for me at the moment

Re: Can't connect to certain sites
Even using cable forum ip from tracert (87.106.245.143) doesn't work so might not be DNS. Saying that I use openDNS but still

Re: Can't connect to certain sites
To add insult to injury, VM won't update me by e-mail (they don't allow e-mail addresses with hyphens in them!)
Mutter.

Re: Can't connect to certain sites
Been having problems all day in the Portsmouth area. Browsing using SOCKS through an SSH session. Can't get on here or tvrage and other random sites.
---------- Post added at 21:58 ---------- Previous post was at 21:57 ----------
I am also using OpenDNS (although set in Windows, because the pos 'super' hub is incapable of such advanced functionality).
