Exactly... I understand if you live on your own it may not be required. But as i live with someone we watch programmes at different times, it was very useful to know who had partly/finished watching a programme.
Again, as with 'other' features, why not include. Cant understand why you would "hate" it?

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.
My 6 year old has over 25 spongebobs recorded, 15 clone wars and 10 scooby doos, and he has no idea which he's seen because he seems to randomly pick ones to play back. I couldnt say I hate not having this, as that would be a bit odd, but it would be very high on my TiVo feature wish list.

Just like you do with the V+. That was the point

I'd also disagree with easier and quicker as well when the epg is 1 button press away (guide) ....

Unless the recording you want to cancel is more than two hours away and not on the first half-dozen channels, of course!

To cancel a recording that you are currently watching in delay, just press the 'record' button and selected the correct option.

Okay. Maybe too strong a word

I would like to see the Series & Episode number shown in the My Shows List, instead of having to go into each recording to find it

It seems Stop works if you are within 5 minutes of the end, but not earlier.
Meanwhile Pause-Stop is a workaround.

Erm... no. Well, not here at least. "Stop" does exactly that. I really can't see it being any different some units and not others. It's not exactly ambiguous, is it!

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.
When watching a recorded show, I press the stop button, this action takes me to the "resume playing" page, but the recording still plays in the top corner. I have to press "tv" to stop it.
I've had tivo a week.

You *can* do it that way on the v+. You can *also* cancel recordings using one click on the guide. It's a toggle, so you can cancel or set a recording with a single click of the record button, which is what I think "TheDon" is referring to.

I've done a little more digging and it really does only affect some boxes.

Exactly.
Useless trying to explain that to Carl though, the Tivo minister of information refuses to believe that it's not the perfect ultimate solution to everything and has to resort to comparing doing things the convoluted way on V+ to try to show that it's not an issue.
It's an STB, I really don't get why people seem to defend it so personally when people point out improvements that can be made which were already on V+.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.
I have to admit, I don't currently have the VM Tivo, but based on what I have read here, tivo is far superior to the current V+, but there are a couple of features I'd like to see implemented. Reminders, and the ability to archive stuff in the background. This last is particularly important IMO, as it can take several hours to archive even a few programmes, and in a lot of homes, it's likely to cause arguments if you effectively take the cable box out of action for several hours, unless you archive over night (and pay extra if you do as I do and unplug the whole lot over night).

Theres no doubt about its superiorness in a lot of areas but l think they could add many more features from the old v plus and other boxes.
