Seriously - I do hope it is just that simple, I just know with my luck it never usually is. But will stop worrying about it and will see what happens when it arrives.
Just start a thread on here if you have problems, you'll get plenty of help.

If I was to upgrade my 10mb to 30mb would I have to pay the £30 for the hub?

Yes - ref this page:

http://shop.virginmedia.com/existing...broadband.html

If you're on 10Mb broadband you can upgrade for a one-off payment of £30, there'll also be a price increase to your monthly broadband payment.
So you would have the £30 one off payment plus your additional monthly cost

You are indeed correct, you can't edit the DNS on the SuperHub

Thats all good to know, but appears when people are calling up, they're still being charged £30 by VM.

another fail on the superhub in my opinion. or is it normal for isp supplied router's to be this dumbed down? as it is the first time I have used one, dlink doesnt count as such as I immediatly flashed to ddwrt.

Why don't you just upgrade to 50Mb if you're going to upgrade to 30Mb anyway, you'll get everything for free, including the Superhub, and any other work they may need to do, for 6 months then downgrade to 30Mb after the 6 months.

so basicly you will get more speed for the same money.

No additional charges on your bill unless you are on a Retentions deal but you would have to pay £30 for activation of the Superhub.

That's a bit of a disappointment but then I guess there are ways around that one. I prefer Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) compared to VM's which I find slower to resolve and slower to update.

I suppose it is not the superhubs biggest problem with it's other issues that need fixing.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion

there are quite a few problem with the superhubs which is to be expected when it only been out a few months and wireless signal strength is one of them in my case anyway
