How Much....
I am a bit confused, it was advised here that I could upgrade my box to a HD one for a fee. Sorted
I have checked my online account and it is advising that I have
1 Virgin HD box
1 Virgin HD + box
However, we don't have this, we have 1 virgin HD + box and 2 samsung boxes.
I rang them to ask what was going on with this, and they couldn't really say. Just said it was wrong and it hadn't been updated - gah ( I haven't made a change on my account for 2 years)
So, I asked how much the HD box would be, and they said £99 plus £20 postage. So, at this point I backed out.
Are they advising me correctly?

Re: How Much....
Additional V+ HD boxes are £99 + £20 self install or £40 manned install
Additional V HD boxes are £49 + £20 self install or £40 manned install

Gah, why don't they ever give you the right information?

Re: How Much....
It might have just been confusion as to what you wanted as they have given you the correct price for a V+ HD box instead of just a V HD box, I'd ring back in the morning after 0800 for best response

I will do, I am not home until 1800, what is the latest I can ring before risking getting someone who doesn't properly understand me

Re: How Much....
Thank you, I will try tomorrow.
We have the same problems at work, amazingly for people who work in the same company I still put the phone down and redial.

Ahh! so you don't enjoy talking to an Indian rep who reads stock responses off a card? or saying over and over "would you mind repeating that please".

Hmmm, take indian rep out and replace it with person.
I like dealing with people who know what they are talking about and understand me.
Spoke to Philomena in the IT support line last week, she left me feeling like I wanted to grate my own face off. Her best advice was turn everything off and leave it, and I will ring you in half an hour to sort it out. I am still waiting for the call.

I've seen this price of £99 in a few recent posts for an additional V+. Does this mean that this webpage is wrong / not updated as it states £75?
http://shop.virginmedia.com/digital-...us-hd-box.html
It says the following in the small print:
"For second and subsequent HD Boxes, HD activation is charged at £75 per V+ HD Box, or £49 per V HD Box."

I've spoken to a rep in India that was very knowledgeable, unfortunately the (presumably VOIP) line was so bad that we had to give up trying to understand each other.

Yes the 'legal stuff' is wrong on the website, as if you actually add an additional V+ box to the basket it states £99

Thatis why I wanted to change the quote. I don't think everyone in India is incapable purely due to their location. The same as everyone in the UK isn't capable due to their location.
However, I am aware of the difference the distance makes, and it can sometimes be frustrating not to be able to explain yourself fully.
